There are two parts to this Meetup.
The first part is capturing photographs around the Denver Art Museum. The museum, and the nearby Civic Center Park, offer a striking combination of modern and traditional architecture and sculptures to photograph and there are likely to be many interesting people out enjoying the late summer evening. On Sunday August 17, we will meet at 6:00 pm outside the entrance to the museum (100 W 14th Ave Pkwy) - note we will not be going into the museum for the shoot. We will separate, or form smaller groups, and set out to find interesting images. At 8:00 pm we will re-group at the museum entrance, and for those interested, end the outing with a beer or drink at Pints Pub (221 W 13th Ave). Sunset is at about 8:20 pm, so the session will cover late afternoon sun (hopefully creating interesting shadows) and the start of the golden hour.
For the second part we will meet at 5:30 pm the following Thursday (August 21) in north Golden (in a commercial office facility near the intersection of Hwy 93 and Golden Gate Canyon Rd). The meeting is to review our images; there is no scoring or judging, just opportunity to provide constructive feedback to improve our images. The focus is our creativity, not technical minutia although feedback of how to improve technically to capture better images is welcomed. I will provide the building address on Sunday during the photo outing.
There is a $ 5.00 fee to join the Meetup which is limited to 8 participants.
