The Builder’s Quest: AWS Cloud Skill Hunt
Date: 22 October 2026
Time: 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Venue: CSE BoardRoom 302, Block 1, Sharda University
About the Event
Ready to put your cloud knowledge to the test and turn ideas into practical solutions?
The Builder’s Quest is a gamified, hands-on AWS cloud challenge organized by the AWS Student Builder Group, Sharda University . The event is designed to help students move beyond theoretical concepts and gain practical experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) through an engaging combination of clue hunting, technical challenges, service implementation, and cloud architecture planning.
Participants will work in teams to solve clues, discover hidden hints, and collect Builder Cards that introduce specific AWS services or technical tasks. Using the AWS Management Console, teams will implement basic AWS services and design an architecture diagram that illustrates how the different components of their solution connect and work together.
From exploring the AWS Console to planning cloud infrastructure, every stage of the quest will encourage participants to think critically, collaborate effectively, and apply their technical knowledge to practical challenges. The event will conclude with a solution showcase, where teams present their implementations and architecture diagrams to a faculty evaluation panel.
What to Expect
1. The Quest Briefing
Begin with an introduction to the event format, objectives, rules, and challenge guidelines. Understand how the quest works and prepare your team for the tasks ahead.
2. Hint Hunting and Builder Cards
Follow clues, solve challenges, and search for Builder Cards. Each card will guide your team toward a specific AWS service, implementation task, or technical objective.
3. Hands-on AWS Implementation
Explore the AWS Management Console and gain practical experience in implementing and configuring basic AWS services. Apply your understanding of cloud computing by working directly on the assigned challenges.
4. Cloud Architecture Planning
Plan and create an architecture diagram representing your solution. Identify the AWS services involved, understand their purpose, and illustrate how the components interact within your proposed cloud infrastructure.
5. Team Collaboration and Problem-Solving
Work together to solve clues, overcome technical challenges, make implementation decisions, and develop a solution. Strengthen your critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills throughout the quest.
6. Final Showcase and Evaluation
Present your implementation and architecture diagram to the faculty evaluation panel. Explain your technical decisions, demonstrate your understanding of the services used, and showcase the solution developed by your team.
What You Will Learn
By participating in The Builder’s Quest, you will have the opportunity to:
Understand the fundamentals of AWS cloud services and their applications.
Learn about AWS Console registration, navigation, and account setup.
Gain hands-on exposure to implementing basic AWS services.
Develop an understanding of cloud architecture planning and diagram design.
Apply problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to technical challenges.
Collaborate with teammates to develop and present a cloud-based solution.
Who Should Participate?
The event is open to students interested in AWS, cloud computing, infrastructure design, and hands-on technical learning. Whether you are just starting your cloud journey or already have some experience with AWS, this challenge offers an opportunity to explore, experiment, and learn by building.
No advanced cloud expertise is required. Curiosity, teamwork, and a willingness to learn are what matter most.
