About us
Do you like horror movies? Do you like chatting about them with friends but all your friends hate horror movies? If so, this may be the group for you! 😁
We will share our love of horror movies, chat about our favorites, get recommendations, and have a laugh about all things spooky.
Whether you like a little scare every now and then or love all things terrifying, all are welcome! Everyone is free to love, hate, or feel indifferent about any horror movie. This is a safe space. ☺️
Here are the kind of events we host:
- Happy Horror Hours 👻🍹 - We'll pick a horror genre/sub-genre (e.g. haunted houses) and create a Watch List for the event. You can watch all or some of them beforehand. Think of it like a book club but with movies.
- Horror Movie Outings 😱🎬🍿 - Let's go to the cinema and watch a horror flick! We'll pick a movie, theater, date, and time. You'll buy your own ticket and attend the screening. Afterwards, we'll go somewhere to chat about the movie.
- Horror Movie Online Watch Parties 🧛♂️🧟♀️💻 - Join us for virtual movie night to watch horror movies.
- Horror Trivia 💀❓ - Every few months, we'll have (or attend) a horror-themed trivia night.
Like horror books? Check out my other group Austin Horror Book Club!

HOW HAPPY HORROR HOUR WORKS
Before the event …
- Watch the movies from the Watch List at home on your own. We do not watch movies at the actual event. Think of it like a book club. It's not a requirement to watch all the movies on the Watch List to attend. However, watching at least a few is highly encouraged as you'll have a lot more fun during the discussion.
- If you have content sensitivities, you can look up movies on doesthedogdie.com and/or unconsentingmedia.org to review warnings.
- Keep your RSVP up-to-date. If you can't make it out, update your RSVP at least 24 hours beforehand. If there is a waitlist, attendance will be taken and "no shows" will be marked.
At the event …
- We’re a friendly welcoming bunch and we love new folks!
- Please purchase something (even if just a soda) while you’re at the restaurant. They’re running a business but being super awesome by giving us a space to meet for free. Also, please tip our servers. We’re a big bunch to wrangle.

Happy Horror Hour - International Deep Cuts 👁️🕯️📼🌑
The Pour House, 11835 Jollyville Rd, Austin, TX, USFour films. Four countries. One very unsettling world tour.
Join us for International Deep Cuts, a horror lineup devoted to atmospheric films from around the globe that many fans haven’t discovered yet. These aren’t the usual international hits everyone talks about. These are the movies hiding just beneath the surface—the kind that creep up slowly, explore unsettling ideas, and linger in your mind long after the credits roll.
From rigid religious despair and dangerous ritual magic to occult conspiracies and philosophical nightmares about fate itself, each film reveals a different kind of unseen force quietly shaping human lives.
Up for Discussion
- Why international horror often feels stranger and more unpredictable than Hollywood horror
- Rituals, belief, and the terrifying power of faith
- Fate vs. free will when the universe might already know the outcome
Come for the hidden horrors. Stay for the discussion… and maybe a few new nightmares from places you didn’t expect.

- Dir. Liam Gavin (Ireland / United Kingdom)
