Atlanta Photographic Society - Learning, Fun and Artistic Expression
This is the official Meetup for the Atlanta Photographic Society (APS), member of the Photographic Society of America. APS is a photography club established for the enjoyment of people sharing an interest in photography. APS is a non-profit organization established for photographers from the "Beginner to the Professional."
Our Master Photographers help mentor your learning and success.
Members participate in monthly and annual photo competitions and photo critiques, educational programs, field trips, exhibitions (Salon and Photographer's Theme Exhibitions) and the annual awards banquet.
Established almost 53 years ago, we are likely Atlanta's first photography club. Learn all about us on APS's award winning web site.
Visitors are always welcome. Look us over as many times as you wish. Joining is easy.
Membership
We have a $30 membership fee per year for individuals, $45 for a family, $10 for students and $25 for e-mail members.
Meeting location
All paid APS members will receive an email w/link to all meetings. Guests are always welcome. Please click the "Attend" button before 12 Midnight, Tuesday before a meeting to ensure that you get a timely email/invite/link.
FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF DECATUR

First Baptist Decatur is conveniently located at the North West corner of Clairemont & Commerce in Downtown Decatur, GA. Map and full details. Parking is on the North side of the church off Clairemont. Enter through main entrance on the North side of church – under the covered drive. We will have a greeter at the door. Our meeting Room is on the 3rd Floor - the “Pilgrims” Conference Room. Take the elevator (or stairs) to the 3rd floor. We have signs to make it easy to find.

Shady Dale Rodeo
Shady Dale Rodeo, 22250 Main S, Shady Dale, GA, USThe Shady Dale Rodeo is non-stop action, and that's no bull.
The rodeo starts at 8pm both Friday June 5 and Saturday June 6. Be sure to get there at least an hour early to scout out the best shooting locations, enjoy the great food and lively crowd, and get shots of the cowboys & cowgirls as they prep for the evening competition.
Admission is $25.
Be ready for low light and fast shutter speeds. Long lenses are recommended for action shots.

Theme Competition: Solitude - Prints (In-Person)

All competitions have two categories - Color and B&W (Mono). The number of entries per member for theme competitions is limited as follows:
Theme Competitions - 6 images maximum per member (3 images maximum per category - Monochrome and Color.)Solitude - Use your creativity to illustrate solitude.
Ribbons are awarded to the winning entries. The images can be plain or manipulated but must be in good taste and must conform to all club rules and regulations.
This will be an IN-PERSON meeting. All paid APS members will receive an email w/link to the meeting. Guests are always welcome. Please click the "Attend" button before 12 Midnight, Tuesday October 11 to insure that you get a timely email/invite/link.
What to bring
Bring your mounted prints. And upload your digital versions through the members' page on our website.

**All about the Atlanta Photographic Societyheme Competition: Small Prints - Prints (In-Person)
All competitions have two categories - Color and B&W (Mono). The number of entries per member for theme competitions is limited as follows:
Theme Competitions - 6 images maximum per member (3 images maximum per category - Monochrome and Color.)
Small Prints - The subject is up to you, but will need to come across great as a small print. All print rules apply. Image size ~5x7 max (~35 square inches); mat size ~8.5 x 11 max.
Ribbons are awarded to the winning entries. The images can be plain or manipulated but must be in good taste and must conform to all club rules and regulations.
This will be an IN-PERSON meeting. All paid APS members will receive an email w/link to the meeting. Guests are always welcome. Please click the "Attend" button before 12 Midnight, Tuesday October 11 to insure that you get a timely email/invite/link.

Open Competitions - 6 images maximum per member (3 Monochrome and 3 Color.)Open competition means that members can enter images of any subject matter such as Portrait, Nature, People, Animals, Buildings, Landscape, Abstracts etc.
Ribbons are awarded to the winning entries. The images can be plain or manipulated but must be in good taste and must conform to all club rules and regulations.
This will be a virtual meeting using ZOOM. All paid APS members will receive an email w/link to the meeting. Guests are always welcome.
What to bring
