Art Dao • Art workshops and mindful sessions in Porto

Hi there! I'm Margarita, an art teacher, and a huge fan of painting outdoors! That's why I invite you to a relaxed plein air session in São Roque park. We'll settle in a nice shady spot among the eucalyptus and focus on their most expressive details.

Using watercolor, we'll make several quick sketches that capture the essence of these beautiful trees! I'll be there to guide you, sharing tips, and consult you individually according to your own level and preferences :) Beginners are absolutely welcome. This is about enjoying the process, not about perfection.

I'll provide all painting materials, unless you want to bring some of your favourites. Just bring something to sit on, and maybe a hat or sunglasses. You can also bring some snacks to share, but it's not mandatory. We'll have enough time to chat and chill after the painting session:)

Join us for a one-of-a-kind workshop where we'll travel back in time, to the days when early humans painted on cave walls.

We'll begin with a short introduction to the history of cave painting, exploring famous caves in France and Spain. Then we'll move to the hands‑on part. We'll work with several types of dry pigments on textured kraft paper to recreate authentic effect.

No photorealism here! Our ancestors didn't know the rules of perspective, but they knew something more important - how to capture energy, movement, and animal's souls 🦣

All materials are provided, and no drawing experience needed. There were no art schools in the Stone Age :)

During this workshop you will:
🪨 Discover fascinating facts about prehistoric cave art
🪨 Learn to create rich textures using soft charcoal, sepia, and pigment on kraft paper
🪨 Master techniques for capturing animals in motion and at rest
🪨 Take home your finished drawing, ready to hang on the wall of your own cave 🦌
