Art Food and Fun is about two things we think work particularly well together: culture, and eating and drinking.
Sometimes culture comes first. We visit an exhibition, explore a city, follow a piece of history, discover an unusual building or go somewhere simply because there is a very good reason to see it — and then find the right place for a beer, a glass of wine or something to eat.
Sometimes we start from the other end. We taste wines, explore beer traditions or build an evening around food and drink — but always with the stories, places, people, history and ideas behind them.
The point is that neither side is an afterthought.
Over time, this has grown into a number of recurring series: exhibitions, historical trips, architecture, wine tastings, drinking cultures, lighthouses, games and expeditions of varying degrees of seriousness.
Some events are educational. Some are exploratory. Some are slightly ridiculous. Most are a combination of the three.
What they have in common is curiosity.
We like good art, good stories, good food and good drinks — but even more, we like understanding why they are interesting in the first place.
If that sounds like your kind of day out, you’ll probably fit in.
