About us
Hello! This is a group for people in their 30s and 40s in and around Arlington (Somerville, Medford, Waltham, Burlington, Woburn, etc.) who are interested in making new social connections!
We would love to meet you at one of our events! The group relies on members to suggest and organize events*, some of which have included dinners, hikes, game nights, book clubs, concerts, and more. If you have an idea for a Meetup, please message the organizers!
*We really appreciate members who open up their home to host events and want folks to feel comfortable doing so.Ā Hence, we ask new members to attend one of our public events prior to RSVP-ing to events held at a private residence.
Attendance policy: Plans change, stuff happens. We definitely understand, so please let the host/organizer know by updating your RSVP. On the other hand, no-shows are inconsiderate and disrespectful to the host/organizer, as well as other attendees. Repeated no-shows may result in removal from future events and from the group itself.
The Arlington 30-and 40- somethings Meetup group is committed to cultivating and preserving a culture of diversity and inclusion. That each member should feel safe and respected at each event is of utmost value to us. If any of our members have an experience at one of our events that does not align with this policy, we encourage you to bring it to the attention of the Leadership team so that it may be addressed it in a timely manner.
----------
The continued running of this Meetup group is made possible by the generous contributions from fellow members. If you enjoy our events and would like to support us, please contact a member of the Leadership team. All member contributions go towards paying the Meetup fees for running the group (approx $400+ tax per year). Thank you!

For those who aren't single, it's fun to watch. For those who are single, there is a singles mixer in the middle of the event and after the presentations. The event is free and LGBTQ+ friendly.

Official event description:
At each event, friends who have signed up to pitch take the stage to introduce their incredible single friends to the audienceāthink fun, creative, and often hilarious presentations that highlight what makes their friend a total catch. (The average age of participants being pitched is 31, and we've had folks pitched all the way up to 65!)
After the pitches and during breaks, we roll into the Single Mingle, a relaxed social time where the audience can mix, mingle, and connect with the singles (and their enthusiastic hype crew!). Don't worry, we will have stickers to make easy to identify who is single and who isn't!
We also sprinkle in some light-hearted games and silly activities throughout the night to keep the energy high and the laughs coming.
Overall, it's a super casual, entertaining way to meet new people, make connections, and have a genuinely fun time.
