About us
Welcome to Happy Snail đ
Happy Snail was founded with a simple purpose: to help every person find joy â even if the journey is slow, messy, or difficult at times.
Our community is built on three core pillars:
⨠Radical Inclusion â Everyone is welcome, regardless of age, race, religion, gender, history, ability, or circumstance. Diversity is not just accepted, itâs celebrated.
⨠Compassion & Respect â We treat each person with kindness, empathy, and dignity. Even in moments of conflict, we believe every human has unique value and deserves to be heard.
⨠Mental Health Focus â Over time, weâll host events with practitioners and organizations to connect people with the support they need. Too often, those who need help most are least likely to find it â we want to change that.
How do we bring this vision to life?
Through community building. Humans need connection â yet fear, trauma, and shame often keep us apart. By creating inclusive, safe spaces, we hope to foster genuine relationships and mutual support.
When challenges arise, weâll lean on nonviolent communication and facilitative mediation rather than quick dismissals. We believe healing and understanding strengthen community more than exclusion.
Organizers will have the support and resources they need to host events that embody these values â and participants will have the opportunity to show up as their authentic selves.
đą Whether youâre here to connect, to grow, or simply to be accepted as you are, you have a place at Happy Snail.

Happy Snail at Aventura
Aventura Restaurant, 216 East Washington Street, Ann Arbor, MI, USCome join Happy Snail for Dinner at Aventura! đđˇđ˝ď¸
Aventura has long been one of Ann Arborâs great restaurantsâknown for inventive tapas, spectacular cocktails, and a standout wine list.
Set menu + pricing (for large parties):
Because weâll likely be a large group (12+), Aventura requires a set menu for the table. That means the price is fairly inflexible, but the menu is generous: appetizers, tapas, paella, and dessert.
UPDATE - we're going with The Celebration Menu, which is 65$ a person, but you get EVERYTHING. Group dining isnât like showing up as a party of twoârestaurants wonât hold space for 20 people unless the spending level makes sense. Iâm doing my best to keep a rotating lineup of great venues and great food at a price thatâs workable for everyone. My low-key hope is that someday weâll have extra funds to help subsidize folks who feel uncomfortable spending much on food. The Menu is here: Menus
RSVPs really matter:
Because our headcount affects seating and staffing, an accurate RSVP is huge. Life happensâpeople cancel, sometimes someone brings a friend last minuteâand thatâs totally okay. The key is keeping the restaurantâs count reliable, so if your plans change, please update your RSVP as soon as you can.Billing + reimbursement (important logistics):
Most places donât split checks for large parties, so this dinner will likely be billed to me. Iâm happy to organize it and pay up front, but prompt reimbursement is what makes it possible to keep doing these eventsâso we can keep things smooth and avoid the awkward âchasing people downâ part afterward.
Please understand: event planning is an adventure. Itâs basically impossible to book a weekend sit-down meal in Ann Arbor for a large group and keep it inexpensiveâbut I really believe this is a great value for what Aventura offers.
And honestly⌠while making the reservation I had a few bites and my mouth basically exploded with flavor. đI really hope you can make it. Iâm looking forward to a great meal and a relaxed night of connection with you all.
