This is a group for playing a variety of modern board games. Feel free to come empty-handed as I will bring my copy of the scheduled game. Each event will be limited attendance based on how many people can play each game.
Some examples of games that I plan to host:

Wingspan / Wyrmspan
Alexandria Library - Charles E. Beatley, Jr. Central Library, 5005 Duke St, Alexandria, VA, USWe will be playing Wyrmspan and Wingpsan depending on what people bring. All experience levels welcome. Expect the game teach to start promptly within the first 10 minutes.
In Wingspan, you are bird enthusiasts—researchers, bird watchers, ornithologists, and collectors—seeking to discover and attract the best birds to your network of wildlife preserves. Each bird extends a chain of powerful combinations in one of your habitats (actions).

Find here the rulebook.In Wyrmspan you are an amateur dracologist. Excavate a hidden labyrinth you recently unearthed on your land and entice these beautiful creatures to roost in the sanctuary of your caves. You will build a sanctuary for dragons of all shapes and sizes. You will entice dragons to live in your sanctuary, chaining together powerful abilities and earning the favor of the Dragon Guild.

Agricola
Charles E. Beatley, Jr. Central Library, 5005 Duke Street, Alexandria, VA, USWe will be playing Agricola with up to 8 players. All experience levels welcome. Expect the game teach to start promptly within the first 10 minutes.
Agricola is a worker placement game in which you're a farmer living in a wooden shack with your spouse and little else. At first, on a turn, your family gets to take only two actions, one for you and one for your spouse: plowing fields, collecting materials, building fences, etc. Each round a new action card is flipped over, offering one more possible action. You can expand your house to make room for more family members.

Dead reckoning

If you have a copy of the game that you can bring please let me know and I will open the event to more players. All experience levels welcome. Expect the game teach to start promptly within the first 10 minutes.
Dead Reckoning is a game of exploration, piracy, and influence based in a Caribbean-esque setting. Each player commands a ship and crew and seeks to amass the greatest fortune. They do this through pirating, trading, treasure hunting, and (importantly) capturing and maintaining control over the uninhabited but resource-rich islands of the region. During the game, you can: customize your ship, card-craft your crew, control the region, battle, and uncover secrets of the sea.

Five Tribes: The Djinns of Nagala

Crossing into the Land of 1001 Nights, your caravan arrives at the fabled Sultanate of Naqala. The old sultan just died and control of Naqala is up for grabs! The oracles foretold of strangers who would maneuver the Five Tribes to gain influence over the legendary city-state. Will you fulfill the prophecy? Invoke the old Djinns and move the Tribes into position at the right time, and the Sultanate may become yours!
In Five Tribes the game begins with the meeples already in place – and players must cleverly maneuver them over the villages, markets, oases, and sacred places tiles that make up Naqala. How, when, and where you dis-place these Five Tribes of Assassins, Elders, Builders, Merchants, and Viziers determine your victory or failure.Find here a how to play video on youtube.
