How can AI be used to improve coordination for Berlin?
What could be used today already? Perhaps your project?Berlin has a complex urban system shaped by limited staff, fragmented data, regulation, political accountability, physical infrastructure, and long time horizons. The time has come to ask seriously:
How can our new AI capabilities help in decision making?
(eg. decentralized AI, secure compute, OpenClaw, Claude Code, Codex, RAG, Computer Vision, GIS agents, simulations, etc. etc.)
Together in the room with civil servants and researchers, we will map together:- 🧩 What functions AI systems can provide
(e.g., extraction, routing, triage, forecasting, secure orchestration, coordination) - 📍 Where those functions intersect with district-level challenges
- 🛡️ What must change for responsible public deployment (auditability, least-privilege access, security, value criteria)
- 🚀 Which capabilities are ready for applied pilots — and what a realistic pathway looks like
This 'working session' builds on nextlearning’s collaboration across district administration, scientific modelling, and civic coordination, and is part of a cooperation with the District of Berlin-Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf and the Max Planck Institute for Geoanthropology.
