Afternoon Tea & Other Adventures - San Diego

Hi everyone~

Let's meet for brunch at Swami's Cafe in Oceanside! You can view their super yummy menu here: https://www.swamiscafe.com/oceanside. Note that the brunch will start around 10:30am. I will be getting there early to request a table for us, but Swami's does not accept reservations so a little bit of flexibility might be an asset here. :)

After brunch, no need to move your car! Anyone who wants to can join me in walking over to the Oceanside Museum of Art (aiming to arrive around 12 noon) for their free admission day. On the first Sunday of each month, everyone can access their exhibitions at no cost (usually it's $15/pp). Their list of current exhibitions is here: https://oma-online.org/exhibitions-oma/. We can also take part in a free outdoor Plein Air Painting Party art activity, if we'd like. I love OMA and think it's a wonderful museum, and I hope y'all agree!

The details: You're welcome to join for just brunch, just the museum, or both parts of the outing! Please just leave a comment below letting us know what you'll be attending. Regardless of what you'll be joining us for, I'd plan to park by OMA. There are a lot of free spaces, and it's a 5 minute walk from Swami's. The address for Swami's Oceanside is 202 North Coast Hwy Oceanside, CA 92056. The address for OMA is 704 Pier View Way Oceanside, CA 92054. No prepayment is required for this event, but please update your RSVP if your plans change.

Thanks so much to our group member, Vera, for suggesting that we have this event in Lemon Grove! She even connected me with the venue via email to help facilitate making arrangements, so thank you again! 💕

We'll enjoy a delicious afternoon four-course afternoon tea featuring a salad course; savory tea sandwiches; scones; desserts; and pots of red leaf lemon tea from 1:00 - 2:30pm.

Tea will be followed by an optional 30 minute tour of both the Lee House Cultural Center (where the tea will be held) and the 1897 Parsonage Museum. Both of the buildings are located in Treganza Heritage Park. Parking is free and plentiful in the park.

The combined tea and tours are priced at just $35 per person, inclusive of tax and gratuity, making this a super duper value event. A prepayment of $35 is required to hold your RSVP for this event, so please venmo me at @lauren-blackwell-7.

Because there is a minimum number of guests required for this private event to take place, refunds will only be available if we are able to find someone to take your spot.

Hi everyone~

Let’s check out the ArtWalk in Carlsbad, followed by lunch at Windmill Food Hall!

The ArtWalk will feature 150+ fine arts vendors, live music, interactive artmaking activities (allegedly this part is for kids, but I plan to test that 😂), and more. You can visit the event website at: https://www.artwalksandiego.org/carlsbad/ The event is taking place near the Museum of Making Music and the viewing point for the Carlsbad Flower Fields.

To meet the group, please plan to be at the event entrance closest to the 5759 Fleet parking lot at 10am sharp. We will be entering the festival as a group shortly thereafter, and once we’ve entered it may be difficult to locate us, and you might need to explore the ArtWalk solo and then meet up with us at the second part of the event at Windmill Food Hall. I know it’s an early start for this event, but I wanted to stand the best chance of everyone finding close parking (and one another) before the event really gets going for the day.

Once we’re done exploring the ArtWalk to our collective heart’s content, we’ll head over to the Windmill Food Hall for an optional lunch. You can view the vendors on their website: https://www.windmillfoodhall.com The food hall is a quick 5 minute drive from the festival, so I’m guessing the timeframe for our arrival there will be about 12 noon, but I’ll keep the comments updated. There is a dedicated parking lot at the food hall, as well.
