Sagehen Creek Loop
Sagehen Creek Trailhead (North of Truckee), Hwy 89, Hobart Mills, CA, USThe Sagehen Creek (5 plus miles) area offers pleasant hiking north of the Truckee area through open sagebrush flats to the edge of the reservoir. Although crowded near the beginning when weather is nice, you'll find more solitude the further you hike in to the forest. Expect to see some cool wildflowers during the spring months, and birds such as Mountain Quail.
For those of you who might be interested in car pooling to, we'll meet at the IHOP and Instant Smog on North McCarran Blvd (take Sierra Highlands Dr). We’ll depart from the IHOP at 8:20). If you are not interested in carpooling, show up at the IHOP and we can caravan up the hill. If you have a question on where we are meeting, please send me an message on Meetup.
