Hiking with Friends is a group from Walnut Creek Friends Church and others who enjoy hiking the hills in Contra Costa County and other Bay Area locations. This group is for anyone who enjoys making new friends and exploring the great outdoors while developing stronger relationships with Jesus, nature, and one another.

Fernandez Ranch, Martinez
Fernandez Ranch, 1081 Christie Rd, Martinez, CA, USI look forward to having you join me on this hike in the Fernandez Ranch John Muir Land Trust. This moderate 6.25 mile hike includes a variety of environments including open grassland, shaded oak forest, and top of hill overlooks. Elevation gain is a mostly gradual 919 ft with stunning views and scenery. The hike is located south of highway 4 in Martinez on the way to Pinole.

Dogs are allowed off leash under voice control.
• Logistics:
Lets meet at the trail head parking lot at 9:00 am. The address is 1081 Christie Road, Martinez. Note: From Concord be very careful when you get back on highway 4 eastbound - the cars come up VERY FAST! Also Christie road is a "minor" partially paved road on the right - immediately BEFORE the train track under crossing.
Plan on a warm hike and be sure to bring plenty of water, a hat, sturdy shoes or boots, a snack, and as always an attitude for making friends.
