Audience: 20’s & 30’sDescription: Sail away with the Narragansett 20s and 30s for a day trip to Block Island! Spend the day cycling the island, sitting on the beach, hiking the trails, or looking for glass floats. Whether you’d like to explore the whole island or just have a beach day, there is something for your interest here. We will take a morning ferry from Pt. Judith and ride the 45 minutes over to Block Island. At that point, participants are welcome to partake in the activity that fulfills their hearts’ summer desires. The island is small enough to cycle around, and there are many hiking trails along the way. You do not need to bring a bicycle, but it is the best method to get around the island (you can rent a bike once you reach the island). If you decide to bring your own bike, you will need to purchase its own ferry ticket! Note that this is not an official cycling event, but only one of the many options of things to do while on the island.
While on the island be sure to keep your eyes open for any glass floats: https://www.blockislandinfo.com/glass-float-project/
Once your registration is confirmed, you will be given the exact ferry departure time from Pt. Judith so that you can purchase your ferry ticket (it will be a mid-morning ferry).
Cost information (ticket costs do not include tax): Parking: $20-$40 (having cash is usually handy for this) Round trip ferry ticket: $18.60 Round trip bicycle ticket: $7.00 Purchase tickets for the traditional ferry here: https://ticketing.blockislandferry.com/webstore/shop/viewItems.aspx?cg=PJBI24&c=PJBIT24
Please plan on purchasing your ticket in advance.
Refund: Please refer to the Block Island ferry refund policy if you find you need to change your plans.
Block Island is full of great restaurants and beautiful panoramic ocean views. Beaches can be crowded but you will be able to find your own space and solitude if you know where to look. Take the opportunity to leave all your troubles behind and explore this iconic Rhode Island gem. A suggested packing list will be provided to confirmed participants, along with a formalized plan for meeting and parking. Note that each registration is for one person only - registration does not cover multiple individuals.Reminder: Please click the RSVP link above to register!

Audience: 20’s & 30’sDescription: It’s going to be a simple but really enjoyable outdoor adventure.
We’ll start with a 3.7-mile loop hike, an easy and scenic circuit that’s perfect for a relaxed pace. The trail is not too demanding, so it’s ideal for talking, enjoying nature, and taking a few breaks along the way. I recommend bringing about 2 liters of water, wearing comfortable walking or hiking shoes, and dressing appropriately for the weather since parts of the route are exposed depending on the conditions. The idea is to enjoy the walk, take in the surroundings, and keep it casual and social.
After finishing the loop, we’ll head to the botanical center at Roger Williams Park (http://www.providenceri.gov/botanical-center/). This is one of the most beautiful hidden gems in the area. The entrance fee is only $5 according to their official website, which makes it very accessible. Inside, you can take your time exploring greenhouses and curated garden spaces filled with a wide variety of plants from different climates and regions. It’s a peaceful place where you can slow down, rest after the hike, and really appreciate the diversity of nature—from tropical plants to seasonal displays depending on the time of year.
Roger Williams Park itself is also a great place to explore, with lakes, open green areas, and scenic paths all around, so the botanical garden visit fits perfectly as a relaxing second part of the day. Overall, the plan is a balance of light activity, nature, and a calm, beautiful environment to unwind and enjoy the day together.
To wrap up the activity, we can optionally go out to eat together. This part is completely optional, but it’s always a great way to end the day since it gives us a chance to get to know the people we’ve been sharing the experience with in a more relaxed setting.
After spending time outdoors and exploring the park and botanical garden, sitting down for a meal together is a nice way to unwind, talk about the hike, and connect a bit more beyond the trail. It keeps the day social and easygoing, with no pressure—just good company and good conversation if you decide to join.
Final details will be shared the day before the event, and any changes in schedule will be communicated via email.Reminder: Please click the RSVP link above to register!
