What we’re about
This group is for active individuals over the age of fifty who are looking to stay fit, have fun, and make new friends in the Northern Colorado area. Let's come together to exercise our bodies, minds, and spirits. Join us for regular meetups and special events geared towards staying active and having a good time.
Fitness is my primary focus. Fitness, by my definition, involves both an active body and mind. Joy and laughter are as important as sweat. Exercise in the company of others makes it enjoyable, not a chore.

- Beat the Heat Paddle -- Inlet Bay Horsetooth ReservoirInlet Bay Marina At Horsetooth, Fort Collins, CO
The forecast high for Thursday, at the time of this posting, is 95 with lots of sunshine. Come beat the heat, worship the sun, and/or enjoy nature.
Friday and Saturday or even warmer, however, it is forecast to be windy both of those days. Watch how quickly everything will brown up.
I've lived next to this lake for over 8 years and we have a special situation. The reservoir is usually lower by mid June and this year it's pretty high. It's 5 feet shy of full. That's high enough that we can paddle below trees. On the water and in the shade of a cottonwood is a great place to be on a hot sunny day. I suggest you try it. It won't be long before next Spring will be your next opportunity.
I will push off from the dock at 1:00. I will be at the boat ramp at 12:30 to assist others. Please arrive early enough to have your boat ready to launch at 1:00. If you arrive later, you will probably see us from the dock across the lake under the trees and can catch up.
I intend this to be a pretty low energy affair, mostly hanging out and moving slowly when we do. If you are feeling more adventurous, we can paddle under the sun and take dips in the water to cool down. One possibility is to paddle over to South Bay to see the mass of people show. The water temperature is 54 degrees. On a hot day and for short dips it feels wonderful.
Bring sunglasses, hats, sunscreen, water to drink, and water shoes appropriate for a possible shore excursion/beach session.
Inlet Bay is a Larimer County park and a Larimer County Park Pass is required for access and parking. If you love the outdoors, it's worth getting the Season Pass. Many of my hikes have been and will continue to be in Larimer County parks.
- West Side Joe and the Men of Soul @ the Magic RatMagic Rat, Fort Collins, CO
West Side Joe and the Men of Soul delivers enormous grooves and genuine guitar swagger. Their strong, uplifting original material draws from Memphis and Chicago blues, garage rock, and early New Orleans funkified R&B. Music Sample.
The performance starts at 8:00. I will be there at 7:00 to secure a table presence.
