About us
Welcome! This is a new group (launched February 2026) for 45+ people who want to enjoy great events and meet old and new friends in a relaxed, no-drama environment. It's run by experienced Meetup organizers. Check us out! No group fee due for the first three months and only $10 CAD/year after that.
Our organizers bring their knowledge and enthusiasm from hosting popular, successful events in various other meetup groups, including the usual fun things (dinners, coffees, movies, walks, games, book discussions) as well as the less typical, like dancing to live music, cooking lessons, scooter tours, midnight kayaking under the full moon, Whitecap watch parties, and happy hours at high-end venues.
A note on the group's annual fee: We very much appreciate if you choose to pay the annual fee promptly upon joining, but also completely understand that you might want to take some time to check out a few of our events first. You have three months to pay from the date you’re approved to join. Payment options are via e-mail transfer or cash (in person). You’ll receive info about where to send the e-transfer when you’re approved to join.

PICKLEBALL - TELL US YOUR PREFERENCES
Location not specified yetMany of you have asked for Pickleball to be added to our growing list of events. As we've yet to host a Pickleball event on this group, I want to canvass all those interested for input that will take less than 60 seconds.
The aim is to
- Understand what are the most preferred locations
- What times during the week you want to play
- What level you are (so to make sure that beginners are looked after and not paired with semi pro players!)
- Get any recommended location I may have missed
The link below will allow you to select what you preferences are for when and where. You can select as many answers as you want. I will then set up a few sessions that try and match preferences.
So please click the below that will take you to the Google Forms that I've created

Indoor locations are here, but are more difficult to book more than 2 ahead of time. If you know of anywhere that we could block book, particularly during the day, just let me know!
I was a beginner once, and still sometimes play like one. I will look to do whatever I can to get beginners comfy to come along like arrange a group of 3 beginners and one experienced person as a 4 to just knock about and learn instead of go straight into games!!
Please do help me get this right by answering the link!!

Ruzz Evans (electric blues guitar) + Cambie Happy Hour
The Cambie, 300 Cambie Rd, Vancouver, BC, CARuzz Evans is another highly acclaimed blues guitarist, but this time from the UK. He's described as "one of the UK’s premier Big Band Blues acts" with a band that "brings together the swagger of Texas Blues, the sophistication of Big Band Swing, and the soul of classic American roots music." Sounds right up my alley. Hope you can join me.
And as always, there's the Cambie's very budget-friendly happy hour (till 9pm) to enjoy and no cover for the music.
We have two tables reserved for 5:30, which will give us some time to chat before the music starts at 7 and goes (with breaks) till 10 - you may wish to leave earlier.
For more info about The Cambie, including the menu, see their website.
