About us
Welcome! This is a new group (launched February 2026) for 45+ people who want to enjoy great events and meet old and new friends in a relaxed, no-drama environment. It's run by experienced Meetup organizers. Check us out! No group fee due for the first three months and only $10 CAD/year after that.
Our organizers bring their knowledge and enthusiasm from hosting popular, successful events in various other meetup groups, including the usual fun things (dinners, coffees, movies, walks, games, book discussions) as well as the less typical, like dancing to live music, cooking lessons, scooter tours, midnight kayaking under the full moon, Whitecap watch parties, and happy hours at high-end venues.
A note on the group's annual fee: We very much appreciate if you choose to pay the annual fee promptly upon joining, but also completely understand that you might want to take some time to check out a few of our events first. You have three months to pay from the date you’re approved to join. Payment options are via e-mail transfer or cash (in person). You’ll receive info about where to send the e-transfer when you’re approved to join.

The Rocket Revellers and happy hour at The Cambie
The Cambie, 300 Cambie Rd, Vancouver, BC, CAHere's another chance to enjoy the Rocket Revellers at The Cambie!
This is a fantastic and high-energy local band well worth seeing in person. They describe their repertoire as a mix of Western swing, rockabilly, country and blues. More band info here. Or check out some Youtube videos.
Plus - the Cambie doesn't charge a cover for their Sunday night live music and the happy hour menu is famously cheap (and lasts till 9 pm). Great music with no cover and a cheap happy hour - this is a rare combination in Vancouver - come and enjoy it.
We have tables reserved for 6pm which will give us some time to chat before the music starts. Based on past experience, I expect the place to start filling up quickly shortly after 6pm. After 6:30, I'll allow the Cambie to use any unfilled seats to seat other customers.
The band usually plays three sets between 7 and 10 pm, but you might wish to leave earlier. For more info about The Cambie Pub, including the menu, see the Cambie's website.
